about our center

Welcome to our site!

C.O. Malm-Center is an academic association. C.O. Malm-Center is founded by academic deaf and hard-of hearing professionals in Finland. C.O.M.-Center develops and offers different services and materials concerning accessibility, national sign languages, culture, as well as linguistic and social wellbeing.

We research and collaborate with different stakeholders and professionals nationally and globally. The Center is also a place for academic signers to network and it aims to promote status and equality of academic deaf and HoHs in the society.

Currently we are working on two projects:

1) Developing national mentoring service for families of deaf, HoH and hearing children who use sign language(s) and who need support for raising children bi-multilingually

2) Producing materials for deaf immigrants about Finnish society for supporting their integration and equal citizenship
